Try this treat to sex up your Valentine’s Day

Try this treat to sex up your Valentine’s Day

Odds are, if we say “maca”, you’ll say “whatta??”. But you’d be wise to get to know this rising star in the health-food world…especially if you’re suffering from a lackluster libido. And what better day to give it a whirl than on Valentine’s Day?

So how does maca work to up your sex drive? Scientists aren’t really sure yet, but a growing number of studies conducted involving this little Peruvian root veggie show that it increases sperm count and motility in men, improves erectile dysfunction, and ups libido in both men and women. We’d say the evidence looks solid enough for us to give it a go.

Even better, it tastes delicious. Imagine a malt ball – it’s like that, but with magical powers. Put it to the test tonight with these super simple chocolate-maca covered strawberries. Then just sit back and take (love) notes.

Chocolate-Maca Covered Strawberries
makes 8 strawberries

1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp maca powder
1/4 tsp vanilla-bean powder
8 large strawberries, rinsed + towel-dried

1. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil for 60 seconds in the microwave, or in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until smooth, then stir in the maca and vanilla-bean.
2. Dip the strawberries in the chocolate mixture, set on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and leave plain or sprinkle with desired toppings (we used coconut and chopped goji berries). Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
3. Enjoy (wink wink)!
