5 Benefits of Goji Berries

If you haven’t heard, we’ve recently added goji berries as a superfood topping to our açai & pitaya bowls. We’ve been a big fan of the berry for quite some time and thought it was only appropriate to offer them as an added topping to our bowls. If you’re unfamiliar with goji berries no problem, we’ve got the deets for you. You may have heard their other name, the woflberry and they are native to China. They’ve been used for thousands of years in China & Tibet as an ingredient in cooking and for medicinal purposes. They’re a pretty unique fruit because they have a high concentration of protein; the highest of any fruit in fact. They’re full of all the essential amino acids, are high in Vitamin C and fiber. They even have more iron than spinach! So here’s 5 benefits to eating the goji berry!

They help boost your immune system. The ancient Chinese believed that eating goji berries increased longevity and boosted strength. They were pretty accurate, wouldn’t you say?

They act as an anti-inflammatory. So they’re great to eat after a long workout. They’re great for people who suffer from Arthritis.

Goji berries help alleviate lower back pain. Eating them on a regular basis can help relieve stress on your back! Who knew?

Like other berries, Goji Berries are full of beta-carotene. Beta-carotene helps promote healthy skin. We can all benefit from that, right?!

They’re an excellent source of antioxidants and vitamins, which means they help fight off colds and other viruses. They’re great to load up on during flu season.
